Finding Child Care

General Public Referral Services
Every year, over 12,000 parents contact the 4C Council Resource and Referral (R & R) Department to get assistance on locating child care, often in regard to the following needs:

  • Location
  • Fees
  • Environment
  • Program Type
  • Ages of Children
  • Language Capabilities
  • Hours/Schedule
  • Group Size
  • Transportation
  • Special Need
  • Availability of Sliding Fee Scale
    (Financial Subsidy)

The referrals provided to each caller are based on these kinds of needs. On average, we give about 15 referrals per caller, resulting in care services provided for over 10,000 children annually.

Free and confidential child care referral and consultation services are available over the phone at
408-487-0749 during the following times and days:

Monday-Thursday 8:30 a.m. to 4:45 p.m. (408) 487-0749
Friday 8:30 a.m. to 11:45 p.m. (408) 487-0749
Closed Daily from 11:45 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. (408) 487-0749
Saturday-Sunday Closed

Child care providers should keep the 4C Council R&R Department informed of any change in their programming. This enables us to remain effective in linking parents with caregivers who meet their needs. Providers that need assistance should contact the R & R Department at (408) 487-0749.
