Who Is Eligible

Who Is Eligible for Subsidized Child Care?

Parents can qualify to receive subsidized child care at no cost or at a government reduced rate if they have received Public Assistance or Cash Aid at any time within the last two years, and if they are eligible. Eligibility is determined by the California Department of Education, Child Development Division.

Participating Parents:

  • Choose any child care provider for your children that is a licensed provider or an exempt provider

  • Must be working, attending school or a training program or seeking employment

  • Must have children up to 12 years of age to receive these subsidized child care services.

  • Must be income eligible: gross monthly income cannot exceed the maximum monthly income level set forth by The California Department of Education. (See Chart Below)
