Automobile Safety

Automobile Safety
Taking the utmost care when transporting children is critical to avoiding the potential risks that exist on the road. That's why we urge that you use safe, well-maintained vehicles and make sure that all passengers use seatbelts or properly restrained car seats to reduce these risks.

Here are some important tips:

  • When transporting children in your vehicle, it is mandatory that every child under 60 pounds or under 6 years old is securely restrained in a car seat. Children over 60 pounds or over 6 years old must be restrained by a seat belt.
  • Parents must sign and give you a permission form before you ever take the children out of your home.
  • Emergency ID forms, including parent signed medical consent forms, must be with you at all times.
  • You must always carry a first aid kit when taking children outside of the house.
  • Children under the age of 12 should not ride in the front seat of a vehicle that has a passenger side air bag.
