To insure safety and well being of children in child care, the 4C Council of Santa Clara county, Inc, provides the only authorized screening program of in-home caregivers in Santa Clara County, with access to fingerprint records at the California Department of Justice and FBI. Program services include processing the TrustLine applications of unlicensed caregivers for clearance from the statewide database of providers that have cleared criminal background.
What is TrustLine?
TrustLine is California's registry of in-home child care providers, nannies, tutors, and in-home counselors who have passed a background screening. It was created by the California Legislature in 1987 and is a powerful resource for parents hiring a nanny or license exempt provider. All caregivers listed with TrustLine have been cleared through a fingerprint check of records at the California Department of Justice. This means they have no disqualifying criminal convictions or substantiated child abuse reports in California. TrustLine is administered by the California Department of Social Services and the non-profit Child Care Resource and Referral Network. It is endorsed by the California Academy of Pediatrics.
Parents can and should check each candidate's references and work histories and then make sure they are registered with TrustLine by calling 1-800-822-8490.
